I'm not a horse person, but I did learn about that beautiful horse from not too far from where I live. I was so sorry that that beautiful creature lost the Triple Crown. His co-owner made some remarks that maybe he shouldn't have, but for us non-horse people, he brought up a very interesting fact.
I always thought the same horses had to run all three races to get the Kentucky Derby's highest win and named the best in the world. Not true. Some people and their horses just wait for the last race and race their very well rested horses on race three.
That isn't fair and rules should definitely change. The owners of California Chrome maybe should have done the same thing; after all, why put all this pressure on your beautiful horse for months and then some fresh horse comes in to race and who doesn't compete the first two times. Is it for publicity's sake that California Chrome's owners did this?
Thank you co-owner for pointing this out and California Chrome's owee gets better soon.
