BIKE PATHS OR COUNTRY ROADS?

I've come to the conclusion that I prefer country roads to bike paths.  When I used to ride with the LA Wheelmen many years ago in Southern California, we would carpool to an area where there were less traveled roads in the countryside.  There weren't that many bike paths at that time, and it was so nice back then not to have to worry about walkers, their dogs and joggers.  I had a freer feeling when we got on those roads.  Also, the scenery was always different.
