While watching HSN (Home Shopping Network) for hours at a time, the item I had been hoping to see again was for the TracFone. I had seen it advertised probably a couple of months ago. It had a phone with web browser, camera (the two features I really wanted), 1000 minutes and double minutes if you buy more minutes and roll over of those minutes and a year of service. They said last time this item was offered, they didn’t include free shipping or lifetime guarantee of the phone if you lost or broke it, it would be replaced. So I ordered it. It cost $108 with tax. I had tried to find this same or similar deal at several stores, but this was a package specially put together for HSN and it was a really good deal.
When I saw the phone advertised the first time, I hesitated because I really don’t use a cell phone that much. I had one one time, and I hardly used it and at the end of the service, I called a few people on it just to use up the minutes.
Since I got Genie (my new GPS) I’d decided I’ll be traveling more, less fearsome of getting lost and with the cell phone, it would be a complimentary duo. I can get my e-mails while on the road and Genie is also Bluetooth enabled so I can link up to my new TracFone which is also Bluetooth enabled. The new phone also has text messaging so maybe I’ll try blogging from it directly when I’m high on some mountain top or remote place to you people out there. How fun is that?
The delivery date on the phone isn’t until next week, but it may come sooner. I was hoping it would arrive before my trip this weekend when I go wildflower viewing, photography and hiking in the El Dorado National Forest with a group of people. Although there are pretty specific directions to the meeting place, it would be nice to have a phone, just in case, since this hike hasn’t got a carpool meeting place near where I live. But Genie said it would only take about an hour and a half to get to the trailhead and I know the road is a good one, although curvy, I feel fairly confident of traveling there alone. I have Genie already programmed to take me there. Genie wouldn’t take me to the trailhead exactly, but did take me to another site mentioned in the directions. I can purchase a map for parks specifically for Genie, but don’t think I’d use it that much. So guys, if you don’t hear from me by this Monday, call out the dogs. I may just be wandering around the forest.
I’m on a roll updating things and it sure is fun being in sync with the rest of the world.
Come to think of it, I saw a great Gateway laptop computer a few weeks ago with 4G of RAM, Windows 7, a quad core processor, a red case with a pretty design which was really pretty. Would this be my next purchase if I see it again? Of course, I’d have to upgrade to high speed internet service (more money). My computer I have now is about 86% full and is soooooo slow, but it still works like a charm, so I really can’t knock it. I’ve had such good luck with this three year old Gateway, I’d get another one in a pinch.
Let’s see now, what else out there is beckoning my purchase?
