I went to investigate where I could get on the El Dorado trail further east off the 50 Fwy. going towards Lake Tahoe. As I looked on a map, it had a street name that I could not find, although I went back and forth trying to find it. This was not an easy feat because of the drop offs on this curvy road which ran along the 50 Fwy.
I finally stopped and asked a couple who were collecting their mail in this overwhelmingly beautiful area. The man said to go into the trailer park and through it, keep going, and you will find it. Railroad tracks were mentioned, but I didn’t see them. I did drive right up to the beautiful trail, which meandered through the beautiful trees, mostly Pine, but other trees with complimentary colors to make a picture perfect setting.
I looked both ways on the beautiful trail and it, indeed, was just breathtakingly beautiful. I stayed there for a while hoping to see some people, riding their bikes, walking, running or walking their dogs. This trail seemed to be barren of anyone, which was kind of scary because of the Mountain Lion activity, which must prevail through this very lonely section of the trail. This section of the trail was too void of people and would not travel it without a group.
Now that I was right at the trail on this narrow road, I knew I must have passed a place to park. I either had to back all the way down this rather curvy, narrow road or find a place to turn around. I did find a way to turn around without finding a place to park. I really didn’t want to park in this particular trailer park because it looked a bit, well, scary with older trailers people were actually living in. I then drove back to the section of the trail near where I live, got my bike out and rode around the large parking lot for almost three miles.
Today I’m going to try to walk/run from my section of the trail I usually frequent to where it will meet up with the section of the trail I tried to find yesterday.
